It has finally happened. We are in the last stages of selling our house in Napa and have had our offer accepted on Hooker Road in the sleepy village of Honor, MI. We will have 27 acres perfectly situated between the majestic Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the impressive Pere Marquette State Forest which spans 13 counties in both the upper and lower peninsulas. We even have the privilege of sharing a sliver of our property with the North Branch of the Platte River. The home used to be the Platte Township train depot which functioned from 1896 until 1924.
People didn't believe us when we said this was our five year plan. To be honest, it has been in the making for quite some time. But five years ago we said Spring of 2018, and sometimes it felt like we would never get here, but we actually did it. It will be incredibly emotional when we do leave our friends and family (my sister lives in Napa), the beautiful state of California, and Napa which has been my home for 10 years and Levi's for seven. We have so much work to do, but we're so elated to finally be getting started.
